Allendale underclassmen -- we may have just finished our season last month, but it's never too early to think about next season. Rest assured that I have been thinking about it! We have a great senior class coming up on both sides and we can have one of the best seasons in Allendale CC history if we do the right things between now and next August. I want to emphasize a couple of things that will enable us to have the best possible results, and those things are consistent training, staying healthy and coming together as a team.
In the meantime I want you all to think about what you want Allendale Cross Country to stand for. What are our core goals and strengths? We need to isolate a few concepts that will define our team next year and beyond, concepts such as Dedication, Tenacity, Integrity, Teamwork, Determination, Intensity, Trust, Attitude, Endurance, Family, Toughness, Intelligence, Belief, Persistence, Togetherness, etc. Help me pick 3-5 of those or others you can think of, and we will get started on planning our 2009 season.
And keep working hard this winter, whether you're running road races, indoor track, playing basketball or just training. If it's snowy or slushy outside, just think about how much training in that stuff will help you for Sparta next year! (No guarantee that regionals will be there, but we may as well plan on it.) As always, email or call me with any questions or concerns that you have, anytime.
